Cape Verde Hold Uruguay in Historic Draw
Cape Verde continued to make history after battling Uruguay to an entertaining 2-2 draw.
The African nation stunned the South Americans by taking the lead before Uruguay fought back. Cape Verde refused to surrender and found a deserved second-half equaliser to earn another valuable point against one of football’s traditional giants.

Mohamed Salah once again proved why he remains Africa’s biggest football star, scoring one goal and producing another outstanding display to earn the Man of the Match award.

VinΓcius JΓΊnior also looked lively throughout the match, constantly troubling defenders and showing the confidence that Brazil will need if they hope to go deeper into this World Cup than in recent editions.
With their attack finally clicking, Brazil appear to be finding momentum at exactly the right time.
Netherlands Hit Sweden for Five
The Netherlands produced one of the performances of the weekend with a dominant 5-1 victory over Sweden.
Brian Brobbey stole the headlines with two goals before Cody Gakpo added a brace of his own.
Substitute Crysencio Summerville also found the net after coming off the bench, while Anthony Elanga grabbed Sweden’s only goal in an otherwise difficult evening for the Scandinavians.

Despite the defeat, CΓ΄te d’Ivoire showed enough quality to suggest they could still trouble other teams later in the tournament.
Japan Send a Title Warning
Japan continue to strengthen their reputation as genuine World Cup contenders.
The Asian giants swept aside Tunisia 4-0 with an organised and clinical performance that underlined both their attacking quality and defensive discipline.

The reigning world champions are overwhelming favourites to collect all three points and continue their march towards the knockout stages.

With Lionel Scaloni’s side packed with attacking talent and tournament experience, anything other than an Argentine victory would rank among the biggest surprises of the World Cup so far.
