Who Eats Buffaloes? Bangladesh Spares Viral ‘Donald Trump’ Lookalike From Slaughter

Buffalo spared death for looking like Donald Trump

A rare albino buffalo in Bangladesh has been spared from slaughter after attracting nationwide attention for its unusual resemblance to US President Donald Trump.

The 750-kilogram animal, which had reportedly been sold for sacrifice during the Eid al-Adha festival, was granted an unexpected last-minute reprieve after Bangladesh’s Home Ministry intervened, citing security concerns and the intense public interest surrounding the animal.

The buffalo, now famously nicknamed “Donald Trump,” went viral after photos of its pale skin, distinct blonde-like tuft of hair and facial features began circulating online. The images quickly drew crowds to a farm in Narayanganj near Dhaka, with curious visitors flocking to see the animal for themselves.

What started as a local joke soon turned into a national talking point.

According to the buffalo’s owner, the nickname was first given by his younger brother after noticing the animal’s hairstyle. Social media users then amplified the comparison, with many saying the resemblance was too uncanny to ignore.

As public attention grew, the planned slaughter became controversial enough for authorities to step in.

A government official confirmed that the buyer would be refunded and the buffalo relocated to a national zoo in Dhaka for protection.

The decision highlights just how quickly social media can transform an ordinary event into a national spectacle. In a matter of days, the animal shifted from being livestock prepared for Eid sacrifice to becoming one of Bangladesh’s most talked-about viral sensations.

And while the story has sparked plenty of jokes online, it also reflects the cultural significance of Eid al-Adha, where animal sacrifice remains an important religious tradition for many Muslim communities across the world.

Still, the internet being the internet, much of the focus has remained on the buffalo’s appearance.

And yes, many people are still asking the same question: who actually eats buffaloes?

As if one political lookalike buffalo was not enough, reports from local media also mention another animal in the same region nicknamed “Benjamin Netanyahu” because of what handlers described as its unusually aggressive behaviour.

At this point, somewhere in Bangladesh, there appears to be an accidental livestock cabinet forming.

Beyond the humour, the story is another reminder of how unpredictable online culture has become. In 2026, apparently all it takes to avoid the butcher’s knife is a viral resemblance to one of the world’s most recognizable political figures.
